Oh good, Fallout 4 console mods went live today and people are already being huge jerkoffs. Hey fellow console players, how about:
-NOT spamming a mod's or mod author's page with endless "BRING IT TO CONSOLE" messages or death threats.
-Taking 3 seconds to acknowledge that mods using 3rd party libraries or other extra code the console versions can't access LITERALLY CAN'T be put on console.
-Realizing that there are very real technical limitations that are going to prevent some mods from ever appearing on consoles, including Bethesda's own 2gb mod limit.
-Considering that a modder isn't an asshole for removing from the console version of their mod a feature that caused lag on a top of the line monster gaming rig.
-Stop asking Bethesda to hand out permabans to modders who don't bring their mods to consoles, I don't care if it's because they can't or if it's just that they don't give a shit because they're PC players.
-F*CKING STOP STEALING PEOPLES' WORK TO UPLOAD YOURSELVES.
I've been watching both sides of this all day, pretty closely. And yes, there's (as usual) some elitist "PC Master Race" bullshit from some PC folks. But mostly, it's modders being as polite as they can and console players being huge dicks.
I mean Christ, modders are at least semi-discussing the idea of making all their mods require the Fallout 4 Script Extender, effectively adding anti-console DRM to all their work, because of either assholes stealing their work, or assholes being assholes and sucking the fun out of their free hobby.
Idiot children ruining something fun for the rest of us, yaaaaay.
(Yeah, I know, some of you are 20something or older. You idiot f*cking asshole children.)
